Leah Kinder is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of New Jersey. Leah completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at California State University, Northridge, and her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Seton Hall University. Prior to completing her Master’s Degree, Leah provided Early Intervention Services and Applied Behavior Analysis Services for many years, supporting children with developmental disorders, genetic disorders, and individuals on the Autism Spectrum. This experience helped shape Leah’s therapeutic techniques, as well as understanding of effective communication and behavioral interventions. During her graduate training, Leah worked with the incarcerated population, as well as with community and crisis management cases. Following the completion of her degree, Leah worked in an inpatient psychiatric facility, a detox and residential substance abuse treatment center, and then in an outpatient practice, specializing in the treatment of Eating Disorders.


Leah has had significant clinical, as well as program development experience, and has worked in all levels of care in the mental health field. Leah brings a positive energy and passion to her work, and has been described and an active and empathetic clinician. Leah’s therapeutic approach is very personalized, and can best be described as an eclectic mix of behavioral, family systems, and psychodynamic theories.
